Belligerent Customer Won't Cooperate With Tech Support

Sometimes you're having a conversation with a human being that you otherwise thought was perfectly rational, and not prone to fits of blind and entirely irrational rage, and then they pull a fast one on you. This particular customer opted for being a waking nightmare. Fortunately, the tech support employee who fielded the situation kept their cool, and it all worked out in the end.

Good Morning America fails at social media with this Lion King tweet

Well, we'll never know it if it was going to be a good morning or not because we woke up to Good Morning America greeting us in the worst way possible.

Trying to share some Garfield-esque camaraderie about Mondays, GMA missed the fact that in the gif, little Simba is nuzzling up against his dead father, not trying to go back to sleep or whatever.

Devastatingly, before the tweet was removed, 98 people retweeted it, sadly saying that they felt similar this morning. We wish you the best.

This was just another in a long line of social media gaffes, representative of the times. My current favorite was the Spaghetti O's Pearl Harbor commemorative tweet from a few years ago:

Nothing says 'Remember the fallen in an invasive attack on American soil" like Spaghetti O's.

How comes that Ash has to go in, for instance, Pokemon center to get a phone?

It's nearly here!

The new Pokémon Go! Plus wearable is for sale Sept. 16th and though it's currently sold out on Amazon.com, you can keep an eye on it's availability here.

As for how it works,

At $35.99, the new wearable is cheaper than a new Apple watch and compatible with both Android and iOS devices. In the package, you should get both the device and an initial wrist strap, but you can also accessorize your Go Plus with Shield Skins and even a cool Power Bank to make your hunts longer.

Once it's released there should be a TON of third-party sites selling skins, alternative wrist straps, and accessories for it. From the looks of the pretty basic design, you can also probably pretty easily DIY your own wrist strap.

You can also just look super cool hanging it out of your shirt pocket--sans accessories--too:

So get out there and catch some Pokémon! Happy Hunting!

Watches video. Looks down at hands. Shakes head and disgustedly tosses controller...

how-do-i-do-this-reaction

No, but all kidding aside if players out there are willing to substitute pride and dignity and their GameCube controllers for wireless controllers, they'll be able to play with the Bidou technique. Granted, smash tourneys don't allow wireless controllers, but hey why not mess around with this during recess?

Bidou allows for players to near perfectly execute pivots/crouching pivots, sliding spot dodges, standing dash attacks, and sustain frame accuracy during wall jump attacks.

This guy was really playing with fire when it came to how close he took his drone to that train. Literally flew it into a moving boxcar at one point. That could've ended up being a complete disaster.

Alrighty then Mr. Musk, alrighty then. Here's Musk's argument in full:

"The strongest argument for us being in a simulation probably is the following. Forty years ago we had pong. Like, two rectangles and a dot. That was what games were.

Now, 40 years later, we have photorealistic, 3D simulations with millions of people playing simultaneously, and it's getting better every year. Soon we'll have virtual reality, augmented reality.

If you assume any rate of improvement at all, then the games will become indistinguishable from reality, even if that rate of advancement drops by a thousand from what it is now. Then you just say, okay, let's imagine it's 10,000 years in the future, which is nothing on the evolutionary scale.

So given that we're clearly on a trajectory to have games that are indistinguishable from reality, and those games could be played on any set-top box or on a PC or whatever, and there would probably be billions of such computers or set-top boxes, it would seem to follow that the odds that we're in base reality is one in billions.

Tell me what's wrong with that argument. Is there a flaw in that argument?

There's a one in billions chance we're in base reality. Arguably we should hope that that's true, because if civilization stops advancing, that may be due to some calamitous event that erases civilization. So maybe we should be hopeful this is a simulation, because otherwise we are going to create simulations indistinguishable from reality or civilization ceases to exist. We're unlikely to go into some multimillion-year stasis.

I've never been so sold on what originally seemed an alarmingly outlandish take on, well, life?

Relatable Memes For PC Geeks

It feels like a year has passed since we Americans received that $1,200 stimulus check. While some people used the payment to pay rent or keep themselves afloat in the beginning of the pandemic, we noticed that some of our geekier friends were committed to spending that guap and stimulating the economy. Not by making a few frivolous clothing purchases or decking their home-prisons with houseplants. Instead, these crafty computer geeks dropped that sweet government money on fresh PC builds. Bright lights. Coolant. Enough memory to run some serious games. While these concepts might be lost on many of us, they're basically a religion over at r/pcmasterrace. The subreddit is a home for people eager to share their builds with like-minded individuals, and has proven itself to be a wonderful source for highly specific memes. We've thrown a few of them together here, but if you need more, the subreddit is flush with 'em. And we promise they won't crash your computer.

Apple Releases Its $50,000 Mac Pro, The Internet Reacts

If you thought tech companies couldn't possibly release a product more stupid than Tesla's Cybertruck, you'd be wrong! Apple just released its most expensive product ever today: the Mac Pro, which has a $6,000 base price and - get this - can cost all the way up to just over $100,000 if you want the absolute most powerful Mac that money can buy.

Purchasing the wheels alone will cost you a cool $400. Apple, you're just trolling us at this point, right? Honestly we think this computer is just some sort of weird flex for the disturbingly wealthy.

All we're saying here is, this damn thing better turn into a flying car, or have the ability to cure cancer or some sh*t.
