Ah movies in the 90s, arguably the last decade to truly embrace the cinema experience. It was the decade when CGI made its first appearances on our screens, when each and every movie release blew our minds, pushing the limits of what was physically and digitally possible in the medium of film.

So we wanted to capture a little of that movie magic and uncover some of the very creative ways that the movie industry created the magic that filled the imaginations off countless millennial children. And so we present you with this rare look behind the scenes of three classic 90s movies: Star Wars, Total Recall, and Men in Black. Which were not only classics for their time but also revolutionary steps forward in the sci-fi/action genre. So strap in for a while ride on the millennium falcon with Luke and the gang.   • It is mind-blowing to think how life like they made these shots feel, yet they were all just mini sets designed with total accuracy. We were pretty sure that the scenes from Star Wars were real cities in far away places filmed from helicopters. We guess it has been quite a while that you cannot believe what you see on your television.

  • Judging by the slumped position, this looks like an intensive makeup process. Could you imagine what it must be like to sit in make up for hours, patiently being prodded and poked, then to go and film for hours wearing said make up, only to return to make up post filming and spend hours removing the makeup. This is what is called commitment.
