May These 37 Star Wars Memes Be With You, Always

Sometimes I think about all those young Star Wars fans back in 1978, sitting at home in front of their 12-inch TV screens, waiting with bated breath for the Star Wars Holiday Special to come on. Just put yourself in their shoes for a second—the only Star Wars they have ever known is the actual "Star Wars" movie they went to see again and again in the cinema because home video isn't even a thing yet. And now they get the promise of an all-new Star Wars adventure. Will it be a continuation of the movie? Will we get to see Luke Skywalker actually fight Darth Vader this time? (This never happened in the first movie.)

But alas, what they actually get is one hour and twenty minutes of the most confusing, boring, and bizarre television programming ever to grace the screen. Wookies endlessly chatting with no subtitles, terrible sketches with no point that go on forever, weird circus acts, and some of the most confusing plotlines ever. Well, at least they got a cool cartoon with the first-ever appearance of Boba Fett.
