Here's the Recap of All the Highlights From Bethesda's E3 Showcase

It was a highlight-packed showcase with dozens of awesome moments that made the crowd cheer. DOOM and Dishonored 2 made appearances, but the obvious star of the show was Fallout 4. To say we're hyped is the understatement of the century.

A woman by the name of Emily Kaldwin will be playable as a protagonist in addition to Corvo Attano from the first game.

And Ubisoft said that making female assassins was too much work...

E3.

E3 never changes.

Actually it does, because this year marks the first year ever that Bethesda will be having its own conference at E3, and this year is all about everything Fallout 4! Tune in for new features, gameplay highlights, and all the latest news coming out of Bethesda regarding the most highly-anticipated game release of the year.

Speaking of releases, Bethesda should also be announcing the game's actual release date. Fingers crossed for 2015.

Bethesda's put up a countdown timer for Fallout 4.  The timer will run out before this time tomorrow, so keep an eye out for the official announcement.

Back in December, supposed casting documents for the game leaked, which placed the setting in Boston, with references to MIT and The Commonwealth.  I don't know about you, but I would love a Fallout with Boston accents!  Wherever Fallout 4 is set, you can count on one thing: war never changes.

In an extremely brief trailer, Bethesda and Id gave the sneakiest of peeks at their new Doom game, which will receive a full gameplay reveal during the company's E3 press conference June 14.

During these 11 seconds, Bethesda shows a classic revenant enemy and a shotgun.

Try to spot the difference 22 years of graphical improvement can make:

This is pretty stingy of Bethesda. We were already excited about the press conference (and our assumption that Fallout 4 will finally be announced), Bethesda didn't have to tease us even more.

That's all you get today, peasants.

The Old Blood is a prequel to The New Order, and will be released on May 5th for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.  It's priced at $19.99 and does not require The New Order to play.  Here's the basic premise, as described by the official site:

The year is 1946 and the Nazis are on the brink of winning World War II. In an effort to turn the tide in the allies’ favor, B.J. Blazkowicz must embark on an epic, two-part mission deep within Bavaria…

Part one of Wolfenstein: The Old Blood - Rudi Jäger and the Den of Wolves - pits BJ Blazkowicz against a maniacal prison warden as he breaks into Castle Wolfenstein in an attempt to steal the coordinates to General Deathshead’s compound. In part two – The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs – our hero's search for the coordinates leads him to the city of Wulfburg where an obsessed Nazi archaeologist is exhuming mysterious artifacts that threaten to unleash a dark and ancient power.

Bethesda has issued a cease and desist letter to the game Fortress Fallout for 'confusion' surrounding their use of the word 'Fallout' in their game title.  For reference, Fortress Fallout is a tower building mobile game, not at all similar to the Fallout series, but given the size of the company making it, they've got no choice but to find a new name rather than fight Bethesda on this one.

You may remember Bethesda doing something similar to Mojang over the game Scrolls, but Mojang was lucky enough to win their case. As ridiculous as all of this is, if you're an indie developer, maybe just don't use anything remotely related to a Bethesda property in your game title; it's just not worth the risk.  Or, you know, just go all out and call your game The Elder Dishonored Rogue Warrior Fallout: New Scrolls.

Bethesda has confirmed that rumors circulating of a trademark filing for Fallout: Shadow of Boston are totally fake, not real, 100% a hoax. Last year we saw a leaked casting call for a Fallout game taking place in Boston, so perhaps that's where the cruel person behind this hoax got the idea. That said, you can still hold out hope that a Boston game is real, just not this Boston game.

From the article:

Two weeks ago, a Kotaku reader sent me several documents from a casting call for a project code-named Institute. The casting documents, which I've been able to confirm are real, include scripts, character descriptions, and other details about the next Fallout, and although the word Fallout does not appear in these scripts, there are several references to Fallout's setting and locations.

One character in the documents—who, again, may not show up in the actual game—is named Preston Garvey. One script describes a mission in which Garvey sends you to salvage a fusion core from a museum in the Commonwealth.

The casting documents describe some of the other characters in the next Fallout's wasteland, like a radio DJ named Travis Miles and an engineer named Sturges who is described as "a cross between Buddy Holly and Vin Diesel." Casting calls for both the male and female versions of the player character note that the player begins the game in a cryogenic sleep chamber.

The script obtained by Kotaku suggests the game is to be set in Boston, with references to MIT and The Commonwealth. See more of the leaked documents here.
