The actual song doesn't kick in until a minute into the video. That's when this team of Destiny players rocks their bodies to Backstreet Boys' "Everybody".

They really make the most of the emotes and new dances that the Taken King expansion brought to Destiny last month. And they also are awesome.

Happy Wednesday!

Bethesda! How you tease us!

In the most recent of their educational videos on the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system, the developer goes over the importance of Intelligence.

These have been a whole lot of fun to watch, but all they do is dangle the carrot in front of our eyes before Fallout 4's Nov. 10 release.

Microsoft held an imaginatively-named Windows 10 Devices event in New York Oct. 6. While they showed off some impressive new phones, a new Surface and a new Surface laptop, we were most interested in seeing new Hololens stuff.

We were super-impressed with the E3 Minecraft demo and have been salivating for more mind blowingness from the augmented reality helmet.

During today's event, they introduced Project X Ray and for the first time, let us see a wearable 'hologram'.

That's when the robots started bursting through the walls.

As with the Minecraft demo, we find this type of interactivity with the surrounding environment super fascinating.

Unfortunately, it's going to come at a price.

Microsoft set a developer kit price at $3,000, shipping in the first quarter of next year.

Time to start saving pennies.

Destiny's new microtransactions will go to fund free DLC

This might possibly be the best of both worlds? Maybe?

Yesterday, Kotaku reported on rumors they heard about microtransaction coming to the popular social shooter Destiny. They also talked about Bungie using the money gained through those transactions to fund DLC, allowing the developer to give it away for free.

This is all part of a new plan that could start as early as this month, according to two people familiar with Destiny's development. Rather than sell big expansion packs like they did last year, Bungie is planning on giving out quests and missions for free, sources say. This will likely involve big drops every few months until the fall of 2016 but could also include trickles of smaller stuff throughout the year.

That means the game's next paid expansion will be Destiny 2 in the fall of 2016, as has been known for a while now. That'll be $60.

And then Oct. 6, Bungie confirmed it:

This coming Tuesday, October 13th, Tess Everis will return to The Tower with a new look, a new storefront, and some new items to sell, courtesy of Eververse Trading Company. Initially, Tess will offer eighteen brand new emotes. Like the trio of emotes offered via The Taken King Collector's Edition, these emotes are completely optional, and won't impact the action game in any way.

To acquire these items, you'll first need to pick up some "Silver," a new in-game currency that will be available for purchase through the store associated with your console. Images and descriptions for each available emote, along with pricing information for Silver will be made available Tuesday, October 13th, alongside the launch of the in-game storefront right here on Bungie.net as soon as the content is live.

So if you want to customize your guardian for a small price, you can!

If you want free DLC, you get that too!

If you don't want either, you don't have to worry about it at all!

See, best of both worlds.

Remember yesterday, when Ubisoft set up that weird live stream of a cave painting slowly panning back?

Well, following that, they announced the next sequel in the Far Cry series Oct. 6, Far Cry: Primal.

The franchise was one we mentioned as we tried to decipher the mysterious tease and it follows on the heels of 2014's critically-acclaimed Far Cry 4. This time, you're moving form the Himalayas to the Prehistoric.

The trailer looks pretty cool, and seems to show all in-game footage. You take down a mammoth, then fight a saber-toothed tiger before realizing that other humans just might be the real enemy in this unknown land.

It's a neat idea.

Also, it's a neat idea that's coming very soon.

The game will ship Feb. 23 to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and a PC version come in March.

Ubisoft also provided this behind the scenes look at what brought the huge developer towards the this specific idea.

Your guess is as good as ours.

Around 9 a.m. PST, Ubisoft tweeted out this perplexing tweet with a link to a live stream.

What started as just a shot on the one lone hunter has very slowly zoomed out to reveal the surrounding art behind it. Accompanied by the sounds of a crackling fire, ambient music, a stern-voiced man and a frightened-sounding woman, five hours later, it looks like this:

There's very little information beyond this to ascertain just what Ubisoft is teasing and when they will tell us already. Many outlets are speculating some sort of prehistoric Assassin's Creed.

These dudes with some hoods might verify that guess:

But Ubisoft is a big studio with a lot of other intellectual properties and plenty of capital to create a new one. It could be some throw back Far Cry game or something totally unannounced.

Personally, it reminds me of the game WiLD. It's an open world in a pastoral, pre-civilization setting. And it was created by Ubisoft veteran Michel Ansel, who made Rayman. Even though it's purportedly not connected to Ubisoft, I still think it's worth mentioning.

11,000 people are currently streaming the mysterious cave painting and who knows what they think of it.

On the live stream's YouTube site, it merely says "Ubisoft Announcement – COMING SOON". Which is actually more information than the video or the tweet gave.

Surely, we'll find out soon.

The list of the world's top brands no longer includes Nintendo

For the first time since the list of the world's top brands creation, Nintendo is no longer on it.
Br> According to Destructoid:

Interbrand says Nintendo is not one of the top 100 brands in the world anymore [audible gasp from the audience]. This is the first time the Japanese developer/publisher/platform-holder has been excluded from the list since the list came about in 2001.

Interbrand justifies the snub by saying that Nintendo is not keeping up with changes in people's lives. Specifically, it points to Nintendo's unwillingness to jump into the mobile gaming scene earlier than it did. Outfits like Amazon and Facebook were cited as examples of companies that increased their brand's value by rapidly adopting new trends.

As is to be expected, Interbrand's list is topped by two juggernauts. Apple's brand was valued at an estimated $170 billion, followed by Google's $120 billion. I've heard of those two companies! The list works!

Better luck next year, I suppose.

Ever since Telltale Games announced they would be making a single player adventure game out of Minecraft, we've wondered just exactly what that would look like.

Well, they gave a little peek at that Oct. 1 with the first trailer for Minecraft: Story Mode.

It doesn't give a whole lot of information, but given what we know about Telltale games like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, we can pretty much extrapolate from there how it would play.

Maybe the kid was running Flan's Mod?

All a Virginia Beach mother wanted to do was order a foam Minecraft sword for her son's eighth birthday from Toys R Us. Well, apparently, someone in that supply line had a sh*tload of ammunition they wanted to get rid of.

Because when the online shopper opened the UPS delivered package Sept. 30, that's what she found.

Local channel 13 News Now has the story:

Jasemin Stephenson says she ordered a "Minecraft Foam Diamond Sword" from the toy store's website last week.

When the package arrived Tuesday, Stephenson says she found 800 rounds of 9mm ammunition in the box, along with the sword.

13News Now has reached out to Toys "R" US and is still waiting to hear back.

Crazy, right?

Warm up those fight sticks.

Is there any character you'd like to see that hasn't yet been announced?

Oooh boy, you lucky Playstation Plus subscribers you. October looks like it's going to have some good games for your Playstation 4.

Incredibly punishing (and incredibly fun) platformer Super Meat Boy and the very charming puzzle game Broken Age will both be free to download for Playstation Plus subscribers Oct. 6.

It's one of those two times of year again. Your Playstation 4 is getting an update.

There's nothing mind-blowing in the update, which is turning the numeral dial up to 3.0. But there will be some reorganization and some new options to let you share those sweet, sweet frags.

According to the Playstation Blog, the most highlighted inclusions in the update will be the option to share videos taken on the console over Twitter and a new Playstation Plus section. The latter will aspire to try and pull all the membership features and games available into one place so you don't have to go search for it.

The rest of the changes are detailed here:

YouTube live: You'll see a new icon for YouTube on the Broadcast Gameplay Screen, accessible after hitting the Share button. Now you can live stream directly from your PS4 to YouTube. Livestreams will be viewable across YouTube.

PNG Screenshots: If you'd like your game screenshots to be in a higher quality format, you can now select PNG instead of JPEG. To access, press Share > Share Settings > Screenshot Settings > Image Format.

Events: A new hub for Events has been added to PS4, accessible from the home screen. This will give you an overview of activities taking place in the games you play most, as well as official broadcasts. For instance, here's an in-game racing event taking place in Project Cars, which you can register for directly from the Events hub.

Communities: PS4 users will have the ability to create communities based around shared interests, like games, genres, and more. Communities include a message board with general discussion, screenshots shared by players, and the ability to join parties / games.

Stickers: From the PS4 system's Messages app, you'll see a new option for Stickers. The 3.00 update will contain stickers themed around Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Knack, LittleBigPlanet 3, Resogun, and more. Instead of typing out a message, just send a sticker — like Drake looking at a watch, asking you to wait a minute."

Twitch plays and defeats dark souls after 43 days.

With over 900 deaths and and over a month spent on the endeavor, the community of Twitch has vanquished Gwyn, thus beating Dark Souls.

It took them a while to figure out. For a very long while, it looked like this:

But, as Kotaku details, the community eventually found a system that works:

After a few days of fumbling around, it was decided to change the rules of the game or call it quits. In some circles, this disqualified Twitch Plays Dark Souls from being a legitimate playthrough; it subverted the way Dark Souls plays. They essentially changed it from a 3D action game into a turn-based affair.

Was it cheating? Sure. Was it the only way for Twitch Plays Dark Souls to move forward? Probably. Does that mean their achievements are meaningless? No.

Soon enough, they beat the Asylum Demon.

A little later, they beat the game's hardest boss, Orstein and Smough. With O&S slaughtered, it seemed a matter of time until they'd actually beat the game.

That time, as it turned out, was on Saturday. 43 days, eight hours, 14 minutes, and 23 seconds after attempting the nearly impossible, Twitch Plays Dark Souls was able to finally say they'd beaten Dark Souls. They only died 904 times, too!

Naturally, they are already on Dark Souls 2 and it's just as interminable to watch.

Which you can do right here.
