Coming soon (not really) to BBC near you!

Daniel Radcliffe is set to play Sam Houser, the co-creator and current president of Rockstar Games. Houser is credited with both the creation of GTA and upping the ante as far as video game violence was concerned.

This, as you know from the early 2000s, drew the ire of Florida attorney Jack Thompson who was known for suing a variety of media outlets for racy and violent content.

As of now the part of Jack Thompson has not been cast. I for one am hoping Idris Elba is up for the role, despite looking nothing like Jack Thompson.

See, I think it could work.

Danish retailer Coolshop put up a listing for the PC version of GTA V with an expected release date of November 14, 2014. That date has since been changed in their listing to the placeholder December 31st, but on the internet mistakes are forever. Keep in mind, if it is a real release date, it would be a European release date and not for North America.

From the announcement:

Capture - the newest addition to the collection of team-based modes in Grand Theft Auto Online, is now available as part of the latest free automatic update on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. With 20 new Jobs across four unique modes, this GTA twist on classic capture the flag style confrontations brings a whole new level of adversarial action to the world of Los Santos and Blaine County. Strategy plays a huge role as you run decoys, set traps and place obstacles to ensure your enemies don't get close to your goods.

To apologize for early issues with the GTA Online experience, Rockstar is giving away half a million in-game dollars to those affected. According to Rockstar:

You must play or have played Grand Theft Auto Online at any time during the month of October 2013 in order to qualify for the GTA$500,000 deposit in your in-game bank account.

Players will first have to install a forthcoming GTAV title update which we expect to happen next week. That title update (1.04) is expected to fix the remaining instances of issues that have caused vehicle purchase loss and will also enable the functionality through which we'll be providing this GTA$ stimulus cash to players.

We will announce at the Rockstar Newswire when each deposit is made. Each of the two GTA$250,000 deposits will be made by Rockstar and should automatically appear in the in-game GTA Online bank accounts of eligible players. Beyond downloading the forthcoming title update mentioned above, there should not be any additional special action required by eligible players to redeem.
