Warner Brothers has confirmed what we've assumed for a while now, a Justice League movie is coming, and it will be helmed by Zack Snyder, the man behind Man of Steel and the upcoming Batman vs Superman film. The question is, will Justice League hit theaters before or after Avengers 3?
Last week, it was all but confirmed that Michael B. Jordan would be joining the cast for The Fantastic Four reboot as The Human Torch. Now, he's been talking to Zack Snyder, director of Man of Steel, to cross the comic divide and join the DC universe as a 'recurring character' beginning with 2016's Man of Steel 2/Batman vs Superman.
This casting choice is a rumor at best, but the knowledge that Snyder is casting yet another recurring role has perked up some ears, and speculation is flying. Since Jordan is black, most are assuming that he'd be in talks for John Stewart's turn as Green Lantern, or the mechanized hero Cyborg. But this is the modern era, where actors of color are beginning to up for any superhero role, so younger roles, like Robin or The Flash could fit the bill as well. I guess we'll just have to wait until 2016.
After teasing a pic of a covered Batmobile on Twitter yesterday, Zack Snyder finally revealed Ben Affleck's new Batman costume earlier this morning. Snyder/Affleck's Batman looks bigger and more muscular than Nolan/Bale's design, and the Batmobile is looking less like an urban tank.
Does this picture change anything? What do you think of Batfleck now?
The rumors can end, it's not Bryan Cranston. Instead Jesse Eisenberg from The Social Network and Zombieland is joining Zack Snyder's cast as Superman arch-villain Lex Luthor. He seems a little young, small and not bald to play the part, but then again I never thought Gene Hackman could do it either.
Rounding out the casting news, veteran actor, Jeremy Irons (from everything ever made) has been cast as Bruce Wayne's stalwart butler, Alfred. This is much less shocking and pretty alright in my book.
The first image of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor has been released and he sure is gaunt! According to director Zack Snyder, "He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure, other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course. Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake. He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there." I'm not even sure what you mean, Zack Snyder.
Zack Snyder tweeted out an image of the suit Ben Affleck will don as Batman in the upcoming Justice League film, and let's just say that much like the internet, we are getting some serious Watchmen 'Nite Owl' vibes.
