According to an article in the Washington Post,

Two influential Microsoft shareholders have been pushing the Redmond software giant to abandon what they view as non-essential product lines so that Microsoft can focus on its core strength: selling enterprise software to businesses.

That would probably mean dropping Xbox, Bing, and hardware including the Surface. Bless anyone who gets rid of Bing, but dropping Xbox seems like a terrible idea. What do you think? Xbox Turns 15 Today and the Internet is Celebrating

Today the most beloved American console celebrates it's 15th birthday. Launching November 15th 2001, the Xbox was a revolutionary console, being the first gaming console to have an internal hard drive.
Its specs at the time matched those of a computer, something that can't be said about console gaming.
Of course this also that also means that the consoles launch games Halo and the zany Munch's Odysee also turn 15 today.

Microsoft is offering a free digital download to consumers whose Xbox One's have defective optical drives. Those offered a game can choose from Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome and Zoo Tycoon. Hopefully that'll hold you over until your new console arrives.

Microsoft is giving away free copies of Killer Instinct to some loyal consumers. Did you get one? If you didn't and are wondering why, the answer is unclear. Xbox says they "considered a variety of things like Gamerscore, LIVE tenure, & other factors in markets where #XboxOne is available."

He announced the departure via Twitter and added that he's "not yet ready to say what that new thing is… But OMG is writing code very [sic] day and exploring ideas fun!" His Twitter bio states his current project is "independent secret stuff."
