We've known for a while that Fox has been courting Channing Tatum to star as Gambit in their ever-growing X-Men franchise, and now it's confirmed. Producer Lauren Shuler Donner had this to say at Monday Night's Days of Future Past premiere:

And now, the Hollywood Reporter is reporting that audiences ill first see the Magic Mike star flinging explosive cards, in 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse. Soon after, audiences will be treated to a Gambit stand-alone film which is still in the very early stages of development.

Personally I feel that seeing the iconic 90's X-Man rubbing elbows with young Magneto and Professor X will be a little weird, but he's the type of character that will play both sides in the mutant debate. Where do you think Gambit will fit in?

A couple days ago, Latino Review released a rumor that Chris Pine would play classic Justice League hero, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), and in addition DC was looking for someone to play John Stewart, another human hero with a Green Lantern power ring. Fast and the Furious alumnus, Tyrese Gibson almost immediately started campaigning on his Instagram.

And it looks like it worked, cause he just posted this:

#TheOath has been taken.....

As it stands now, Chris Pine and Tyrese Gibson will be joining Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Ray Fisher as Cyborg as DC's Justice League.

Over the weekend, Fast and Furious' Tyrese Gibson started posting a series of pictures on Instagram. While the Green Lantern solo film isn't out until 2020, John Stewart could make an appearance in any of the DC Movies over the next 5 years.

French actress Léa Seydoux from Blue is the Warmest Color and the upcoming 24th James Bond pic, Spectre, is reported to have been offered the female lead in Fox's upcoming Gambit solo film. Something of a passion project for Channing Tatum, the actor has been attached to star since the movie was nothing more than a rumor floating around Hollywood.

Léa will reportedly be playing Bella Donna Boudreaux, the daughter of the leader of a New Orleans' assassin's guild, and Gambit's first love. The two are married to unite her father's guild and the theives' guild to which Gambit belongs. Things quickly turn south and after the nuptials the card throwing cajun must flee.

Bella Donna, of course, has her own mutant powers similar to Gambit's, plasma blasts. Will she be an aide to or antagonist of Tatum's anti-hero? The best bet is on a little of both.

We'll see how Channing's cajun accent compares to the natural accent of the French actress. If she accepts the role, this movie could sound weirder than Costner's Robin Hood.

History Boys actor, Samuel Anderson has been cast as a companion to join Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman in the eighth season of Doctor Who. He's playing Danny Pink, a teacher who works with Coleman's Clara Oswald, as a teacher at Coal Hill School. On the role, Anderson says

"I was so excited to join Doctor Who, I wanted to jump and click my heels, but I was scared I might not come down before filming started! It's a quintessential part of British culture and I can't believe I'm party of it. It's an honour to be able to work alongside Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman and I can't wait to show people how my character becomes involved with such a fantastic duo!"

What do you think? Will Danny be a potential love interest for Clara or just another traveler caught up in the Doctor's adventures?

Marvel anti-hero, vigilante, and torture pr0n enthusiast, The Punisher is coming to the Netflix Original Series Daredevil in Season 2, and he's already been cast.

The Walking Dead alumnus, Jon Bernthal who played violent sociopath Shane, will take over as Frank Castle (so we know he'll do it perfectly). No word yet on whether he'll help or hinder the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, but chances are it'll be somewhere in the middle.

Still no word on classic Daredevil characters Elektra or Bullseye, but we're holding out hope.

Stage actor Ray Harris has officially been announced to play Victor Stone (Cyborg) in 2016's much anticipated Batman vs Superman. The role is reported to be small, but it paves the way for future DC Universe movies.

What do you think of the casting choice? Is hiring an unknown a good choice? Who would you like to see play Cyborg?

Father Gabriel Stokes first met Rick's band in issue 65 of The Walking Dead comic series, and now he's coming to the show (played by actor Seth Gilliam). In the comics, Father Stokes survived the outbreak by turning away his own congregation, and now feels he must atone for that sin by preaching to the other survivors. There's a history of mistrust there.

How will he be different in the show? Is he part of the band of Terminus survivors? What do you think?

Despite all the great news Fox has had about it's X-Men: Apocalypse casting in the past couple months, the franchise is taking a serious blow. Superstar, Jennifer Lawrence has confirmed she will be leaving the series after 2016's trilogy finale. Fox hit the jackpot, bringing her on as the shapeshifting Mystique for X-Men: First Class just before she hit super-stardom in The Hunger Games and Silver Linings Playbook, but now the actress is moving on.

Apocalypse is the third installment in the young X-Men storyline. Lead by Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and Nicholas Hoult, it will act as a transitional piece as Fox ramps up the franchise to compete with Marvel's Avenger's universe. With a planned Deadpool, Gambit, and another Wolverine spin-off all in the works, Fox is hoping to make an X-Men extended universe that can hold it's own against the Marvel and DC behemoths.

Lawrence's exit is probably best for both parties, allowing the Oscar-winner to pursue different fare, while simultaneously allowing Fox to explore other characters in the X-Men catalogue. Let's just hope the X-Men franchise can survive without her strength in the box office.

It looks like WB and DC are going the opposite direction Christopher Nolan started in The Dark Knight franchise. For the upcoming, increasingly star-studded, Suicide Squad, director David Ayer has reportedly signed on Lost alum, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Mr. Eko) to play Batman villain, Killer Croc.

The reptilian strong-man breaks Nolan's previous, 'no fantastical villains' rule and will bring a fantastical element to the burgeoning DC Cinematic Universe.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje is joining a giant cast featuring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Cara Delvigne, Joel Kinnamon, Viola Davis, and Raymond Olubowale and Scott Eastwood in unknown roles.

What do you think, is this too many characters for one movie?

The superhero rumor mill is churning again, this time about a nemesis for DC/Warner Brothers Super-Villain team-up The Suicide Squad. Reports are suggesting that True Blood alum, Joe Manganiello will be donning the iconic sword and mask of infamous DC mercenary and assassin, Deathstroke.

Suicide Squad is already a star-studded production. Featuring Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jared Leto as The Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Manganiello/Deathstroke would be joining the best of the best of DC's iconic villains. Rumors are suggesting that Deathstroke would begin the movie as the team's antagonist, but knowing Deathstroke's history, a future team-up is not out of the question.

What do you think? Should Joe Manganiello play Deathstroke?
