Rose McGowan, an American actress released the following statement regarding her general disapproval of the X-Men: Apocalypse poster:

‘There is a major problem when the men and women at 20th Century Fox think casual violence against women is the way to market a film.'

She went on to wrap up her interview with Hollywood Reporter, regarding the matter, with:

"I’ll close with a text my friend sent, a conversation with his daughter. It follows: ‘My daughter and I were just having a deep discussion on the brutality of that hideous X-Men poster yesterday. Her words: 'Dad, why is that monster man committing violence against a woman?' This from a 9-year-old. If she can see it, why can’t Fox?"

The poster, as you can see from above depicts the villain Apocalypse essentially choking the living sh*t out of Mystique. McGowan's not the only one to step forward to express some outrage. The internet reactions are already running amok, check 'em out below. Because if you're like me, you probably had no idea who the heck Rose McGowan was..

What do you guys make of all this?

Actress Olivia Munn took to Instagram again to show off her superhero training skills. Munn will be playing Psylocke, a psychic, ninja, and mutant who appears to be Apocalypse's right hand lady.

A couple weeks ago we saw Munn's sword skills, and thank Jeebus (aka Bryan Singer), she's not skipping leg day.

The production on X-Men: Apocalypse is chugging right along for its 2016 release date and we've got another behind-the-scenes picture from the maestro himself, director Bryan Singer. In a landscape of huge digital effects pictures (looking at you Jurassic World) it's great to see a blockbuster going old school with its set design.

"This takes me back to #raidersofthelostark #notallgreenscreen," he tweeted.

Frankly, it's leaving us with a tender feeling inside.

In this newly released concept art for X-Men: Apocalypse, classic heroes Cyclops and Jean Grey are defending themselves against a flying assailant, but if you take a closer look that opponent appears to be Storm.

Like Cyclops and Jean Grey, Storm is a veteran member of the X-Men, so to see her fighting Xavier's team is very concerning. The team will be put up against Apocalypse, who will assemble his four horsemen in the film. Will the movie flip the story on its head, and make Storm a villain?

Empire Online confirmed through X-Men director Bryan Singer that flying fan-favorite, Angel will be appearing in next years X-Men: Apocalypse. He also confirmed that the winged mutant will be played by Ben Hardy.

Fans beware, Singer also let us know, "he’s not a very nice Angel! And that’s all I’ll say…" Based on that art, we think we might be lookin at Archangel, Apocalypse's right hand.

The cast for the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse keeps getting bigger and bigger. Rounding out today's news is Ben Hardy, veterancast member of the long running British soap EastEnders getting the role of Warren Worthington III, more famously known as Angel.

Angel joining the cast comes as no shock to fans. He's a pretty integral part of of the Apocalypse storyline, and Bryan Singer released this concept art last week.

Though that does mean we'll have 4/5 of the original X-Men team.

Bryan Singer tweeted last night the new cast members in X-Men: Apocalypse. Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones), Tye Sheridan (Mud), and Alexandra Shipp (Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B), will join the James McAvoy led X-Men team in the 1980's as young versions of Jean Grey, Cyclops, and Storm.

Taking over for Famke Janssen, James Marsden, and Halle Berry, these three youngsters will join the team to take on the iconic villain Apocalypse. With Nicholas Hoult returning as Beast, this is the closest we'll ever get to the original line-up.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" hasn't even begun filming yet, but the viral marketing campaign has already hit the internet. Earlier this week, the Youtube Channel M Underground uploaded this video: a pseudo-conspiracy theory about the Mutant threat.

X-Men: Apocalypse will detail the rise of the franchise's most iconic villain, and will focus on the cast from First Class. Bryan Singer is set to direct with a release date in May, 2016.
