We're talking fire Pokémon turning into ice Pokémon and new colors for the oldie favorites. Introducing Alola forms, which will make their big debut in Pokémon Sun and Moon. Here are some of the classic Pokémon then depicted in their new forms, as courtesy of Serebii:
Pokémon Sun and Moon will also introduce the 'styles' feature -- which is dependent upon which parts of the island you encounter a given Pokémon on:
While most people wait in eager anticipation for the Pokémon Sun and Moon release, while potentially keeping themselves busy by photoshopping the sh*t out of the world's seemingly least favorite Pokémon starter of all time, Popplio...other folks in Hong Kong marched in protest over Nintendo's plan to use the Putonghua (Mandarin Chinese) translation for 100+ Pokémon characters in the Hong Kong version of Pokémon Sun and Moon.
The core of the fans' unrest is with the Pikachu name change. Previously known as "Beikaaciu" but now set to be referred to as Pikaqiu in future games.
6,000 people banded together to sign off on a petition in March asking Nintendo to reverse the changes, but the request went on to be ignored.
Don't even know where to start with the latest trailer for Pokémon Sun and Moon! So many exciting things happening all at once. Snorlax finally wakes the heck up to unleash the ultimate z-move...'pulverizing pancake' (just wait till you see it in the video), and Raichu's straight up surfing the waves.
Ah, what a grand day, indeed. We present, Solgaleo and Lunala, the two newest legendaries in the Pokémon universe. Solgaleo (as seen on left in picture above) will star in Pokémon Sun, and Lunala (right) in Pokémon Moon. Both look like they could deal out a massive whooping on lil Popplio. Here's the new trailer which features the legendaries, as well as new gameplay footage, and a look at the new Pokédex:
In Sun and Moon all players will get a Pokédex inhabited by the ghost-like Pokémon Rotom, who can possess/inhabit objects and machinery.
“It does much more than record Pokémon info—it sparkles with its own personality. The Rotom Pokédex shows your current location and your next destination, and it also gives you advice on where to go next, based on the conversations you have with others! It’s likely to be of great help to you in many parts of your adventure.”
Lastly, here's a detailed look at Aloha: the Hawaii-inspired region of Sun and Moon:
