25 Dragon Age II Memes Celebrating 25 Years of its Absolute Chaos

When a flop flips and becomes a must-play cult game, you have to celebrate its quarter-century in existence.

Like with every game in the Dragon Age franchise, each game after the first was always labeled "It'll never be as good as Dragon Age: Origins". And I share this sentiment with the rest of the fandom - no other game in this series, not even Inquisition (as magnificent as it is), could reach the heights Origins reached. But the thing with Dragon Age II is that it was the OG not-as-good-as-Origins game. It did it first. And, you know, it has many other qualities to like, despite its many caveats.

And that's the very special thing about Dragon Age II - it doesn't matter how many bandits will randomly fly-jump on you from thin air, it doesn't matter how many identical dungeons you'll crawl through, and it doesn't matter how weird the elves look (because they did very wrong with my boy Zevran, and that's borderline unforgivable). It's still one of the best RPGs out there, with a truly magical cast of characters, each a whole world to explore. And let's not forget the banger of a dialog, giving us unforgettable pieces such as: "Ten years, a hundred years from now, someone like me will love someone like you, and there will be no Templars to tear them apart", but also: "I like big boats, I cannot lie."

Even 25 years later, I never forgot my love for Dragon Age II. Knowing it's out there, existing for a literal quarter-century makes me both feel old and nostalgic. I miss my original purple (comical) Hawke, who swang the biggest swords he could, supported mages with all his might, and was the yin to Fenris' yang (they bonded over endless cynicism, of course). Despite the latest installment, Veilguard, looks like it has burried this beloved frenchise, I will always love Dragon Age and what it used to be. So here's to 25 years of the funniest game in the series!

Yeah, you see that? As I was writing before - Dragon Age II did dirty to my boy Zevran. If any game in the series needs a Remastered or a Remake version, it's not Origins, as people claim (because Origins is a 10/10 already). Dragon Age II will be the one profiting from a cosmetic remaster at a minimum.
