Bryan Singer took to Instagram this morning to give us the first look at the new Nightcrawler. Actor Kodi Smit-McPhee is taking on the role in the upcoming X-Men: Age of Apocalypse. The popular X-Men teleporter was last played by Alan Cumming in 2003's X2.
Smit-McPhee's younger version will join other teenaged X-Men as they take on iconic villain Apocalypse in the 1980's. Check out a clip of Nightcrawler's trademark 'BAMF'.
Star of The Road and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Kodi Smit-McPhee is joining the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse as German teleporter, and iconic team member, Nightcrawler. He's joining Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), and Tye Sheridan (Cyclops) as young actors to take on established X-Men characters.
Nightcrawler was aptly played by Alan Cumming in X2: X-Men United (2003). Of course, X-Men: Apocalypse will be set in the 1980's, as Charles Xavier is re-opening his school for gifted youngsters.
