Greg Berlanti is on the cover of Variety with his cross channel superheroes, The Flash and Supergirl. We love having so many DC heroes on TV, but all I want to see is a team-up episode. Do you think CBS and The CW can pull it off?
DC Comics' Supergirl is coming to TV this November. Following the adventures of Kryptonian refugee, Kara Zor-El (Superman's cousin), Supergirl looks like a lot of TV shows combined into one. We have a Devil Wears Prada-esque tough female boss in Calista Flockhart's Cat Grant, and a secret government agency dealing with extraterrestrial threats! How much awesome cliches can one show have?
Supergirl better be strong if she's going to carry that many plotlines.
CBS has found theirSupergirl. Reports incdicate that Glee star Melissa Benoist, will take the role of Kara-Zor-El, Superman's cousin who also escaped the death of Krypton and found her way to Earth.
Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she's been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.
With their sister network, The CW's, success with Arrow and The Flash, it looks like CBS wants a piece of the DC pie. Let's just hope it pans out better than Constantine.
