A week ago we learned that the original director for Deadpool, Tim Miller was abandoning ship, and now we've received confirmed reports that Miller is gearing up to direct the Sonic the Hedgehog movie.

The gameplan at this point is to make a hybrid CG-animated/live-action family film. Patrick Casey and Josh Miller, who were responsible for creating Golan the Insatiable, are penning the script.

Deadline confirms that Tim Miller (directed Deadpool and was going to direct the sequel) has split due to creative differences with Ryan Reynolds. Miller apparently never signed on for the second film, and the parting of ways was reported as being done under amicable circumstances.

Still though, this comes as a bit of a bummer for the fans out there that enjoyed Miller's work on Deadpool. Who will replace him? Who should?

It's been a long and grueling road that's definitely tried our patience, since we first saw those pictures of Old Man Logan teased by Hugh Jackman, till now. He was out there sporting that new grey beard, and we weren't sure what to believe...didn't want to get our hopes up too high.

And then we all saw that new movie poster, with Wolverine holding some mysterious little hand.

Part of me hoped that we were in fact looking at Deadpool's baby hand, as he so humorously teased on Twitter:

But definite nope there. Just this little 'sweetheart.':

Boyd Holbrook co-starring as the main villain, Donald Pierece looks like it's about to be epic too:

Anyways, thoughts, initial reactions, etc, on the first trailer?

The Hollywood Reporter just announced that Leonardo DiCaprio's film production company, Appian Way and Paramount Pictures are teaming up to produce their very own Captain Planet movie. Paramount managed to lock down the rights to Captain Planet and the Planeteers, and "is in negotiations with Jono Matt and Scream Queens star Glen Powell to write the script."

Sources from The Hollywood Reporter also say that "the story takes place years after the adventures of the show, with the Captain now a washed up hasbeen who needs the kids more than they need him."
