Look, it is kinda unhinged that planes just causally hang out several miles above our heads en masse on a daily basis. Coming and going, toing and froing, just transporting millions of people from place to place without blinking an eye. It is a truly absurd concept. Which should track, then, that many of the facts that make aviation possible sound pretty absurd as well, you know, to match the concept that they collectively form.

So we figured, why not take a look at some of these outlandish truths so that we can all learn a little bit more about what it takes to keep a giant hunk of mental in the sky for several hours at a time. Which is why we made this list of absurd aviation facts that actually true. Not to mention, it is always good to have a mind-bending anecdote in your back pocket the next time things get a little dry in the conversation department.

But we will say that there is a whole documentary out there about how Emirate prepare their airplane food, and considering how much effort they put into crafting meals, we really want this to be true.
