Our darling United States have gone through quite a lot of changes in their centuries long existence. Once upon a time the area known as the wild west was home to some of the most lawless citizens the world has ever known, today it is dominated by commercial powerhouses and innovators of technology. And much as that area has changed, so have the many mining and industrial towns that were once the lifeblood of the country.

Pushing development and progression at a rate that was previously unheard of in the world. But alas, much like the wild west, those days are long behind us know and with much of the hard labor now taking place overseas, our United States are filled with timeless time capsules that we call ghost towns. Towns that have been left to the wild, to rot and rust with the sands of time. Their magic captured in these photos shows a time that has been lost, but not forgotten.

One of the many railroads that build the United States. To think that this lifeline once represented the strength and forward-thinking vision of the USA. Yet, painfully ironic that the Europeans managed to maintain theirs much better and still actively use their rail networks today. You’ve got to wonder who had the right idea.

An American classic left to rot. It is wild isnt it, that in a country so developed, so motivated to progress, that so many small towns have all but been wiped off the map. Left to rot and rust while the world moves on and forgets all about them. One day scientists will start archeological digs to find out what happened to these towns once they are long forgotten, how wild is that?
