As they continue to roll out the expanding list of fighters for next year's Street Fighter 5, Capcom has a few more tricks up its thobe.

They unveiled the first Middle-Eastern character in the series Sept. 11.

More details are available at Polygon:

Rashid is the next brand new character to be joining the cast of Street Fighter 5, EventHubs reports. The character was announced this morning at the Games '15 expo in Dubai.

Yoshinori Ono, the producer of the Street Fighter series, revealed the fighter onstage at the event, showing off gameplay footage of Rashid in action.

The official statement released by Capcom on their site, reads as follows:

"Over the past weekend, we were notified that an unfortunate case of sexual harassment occurred at Combo Breaker 2016, a Capcom Pro Tour Ranking Event, where a female attendee received unwarranted and unwanted contact from a male attendee, who is confirmed to be Noel Brown. This incident was also captured on camera during the live stream before the Street Fighter V Losers Finals match."

People are reacting to the ruling with a mix of outrage, approval, and suspicion:

Capcom has been letting the news of the Street Fighter V roster slowly leak out before its release next year.

The latest addition is Zangief. You know, the Red Cyclone!

He joins an illustrious cast that includes new and old fighters.

Warm up those fight sticks.

Is there any character you'd like to see that hasn't yet been announced?
