Bryan Singer tweeted last night the new cast members in X-Men: Apocalypse. Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones), Tye Sheridan (Mud), and Alexandra Shipp (Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B), will join the James McAvoy led X-Men team in the 1980's as young versions of Jean Grey, Cyclops, and Storm.
Taking over for Famke Janssen, James Marsden, and Halle Berry, these three youngsters will join the team to take on the iconic villain Apocalypse. With Nicholas Hoult returning as Beast, this is the closest we'll ever get to the original line-up.
It's time to shift those casting rumors from Doctor Strange to another Marvel property: X-Men. Bryan Singer's upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse is looking to connect the First Class cast to it's modern day counterparts by casting two teenage stars as the first couple of the Mutant Universe, Cyclops and Jean Grey.
Up for the psychic who would someday become Phoenix are Elle Fanning (Maleficent), Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit), and Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick Ass). The cursed to always wear sunglasses, Scott Summers, is said to be Ben Hardy (EastEnders), Timothee Chalamet (Interstellar), and Charlie Rowe (Red Band Society).
Let's just hope they'll retcon Iceman and Angel so we can get the original team together soon.
