Ubisoft has announced plans to build a 10,000 square meter (over 100,000 square foot) theme park in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. From the Ubisoft Blog:

Have you ever played one of Ubisoft’s games and thought, “This is fun and all, but I’d really like to experience it as a theme park ride”?

I mean, no, not really, but sure, I guess.

The aim of the park is to "immerse people in reactive worlds where they can interact with each other and become the heroes of their own life-sized game,” according to Jean de Rivières, senior vice president of Ubisoft Motion Pictures. The park will feature rides and other attractions built around Ubisoft's franchises, which have not been named but are sure to include Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, something from Tom Clancy, and please God not Just Dance. which, according to Comingsoon.net will include Just Dance, Assassin's Creed, and Rabbids.

It's hard not to compare this theme park to Nintendo's similar announcement of Nintendo IP appearing at Universal Theme Parks earlier this year, which, if I'm being honest, seems like a far better idea. What about you; would you rather visit a Nintendo or Ubisoft park?

Nintendo and Universal Parks & Resorts announced a partnership bringing popular Nintendo IP to Universal Parks!  From the announcement:

The immersive experiences will include major attractions at Universal’s theme parks and will feature Nintendo’s most famous characters and games. More details will be announced in the future, as the Nintendo and Universal creative teams work to create specific concepts.

Do you know what this means?  A LITERAL HYPE TRAIN IS COMING (maybe, probably, hopefully)

What kinds of Nintendo rides and experiences would you like to see at Universal?

What's not to love about a theme park based on the world's most famous anime studio?  Nothing, that's what.  Unfortunately, the park filled with Ucnle Pom's Planetarium and a Catbus monorail is a work of fiction, produced by artist Takumi.  Want to look at it in all its full-res glory? Click here.

Soon you might be able to ride around in a TARDIS or soar over 221B Baker Street in a giant ferris wheel.

BBC Worldwide has signed a deal with London Resort Company Holdings to feature characters from its shows in an amusement park that is expected to open in 2020.

This means themed rides and attractions featuring characters and elements from "Doctor Who," "Sherlock," and "Top Gear" among others.

It will "combine the glamour of Hollywood with the best of British culture," according to The Guardian.

The $3.14 billion London Paramount resort is being constructed in Kent and – in addition to the rides – there will be a water attraction, a 2,000-seat theatre and 5,000 hotel rooms.
