From MNN

To the dismay of "Star Wars" fans everywhere, physicists have long cried foul about the science of building real-life lightsabers. According to conventional physics, photons don't behave like regular particles of matter. They are massless particles, and can't interact with one another. It's therefore impossible to build anything out of light with a solid structure, such as a lightsaber.

But a breakthrough new discovery from researchers at the Harvard-MIT Center for Ultracold Atoms could change everything, according to phys.org (link provided below). They have discovered how to make individual photons interact and bind together into molecular structures. Not only does this represent a whole new state of matter, but these light molecules can potentially be shaped to form solid structures — in other words, lightsabers!

It took more than two and a half years, but Nintendo's Wii U console has managed to clear 10 million units sold.

According to Polygon:

Nintendo's Wii U console crossed the 10 million units sold threshold in the three-month period ended June 2015 (PDF link), while the console's new shooter, Splatoon, sold 1.62 million units.

Worldwide Wii U sales reached 470,000 units, compared to 510,000 units in the same quarter last year in the wake of Mario Kart 8's May 29, 2014 release. The Wii U was released in November 2012 and has struggled to sell, compared to Nintendo's previous consoles and its current competitors.

The console has been famously slow selling, though those Splatoon numbers are good news for Nintendo's newest franchise.

For comparison, it took the Wii a little under a year to sell through 10 Million units, as you can see in this fancy chart:

Additionally, it took the Playstation 4, the fastest selling console of this generation, 10 months to sell that many units.

If you want to look at the whole Nintendo sales report, like some crazy, you can do that here.

In an interview with the folks running Daredevil on Netflix, /Film uncovered this neat tidbit of information:

Daredevil fans might appreciate one trivia tidbit about why Rosario Dawson’s character on the show is Claire Temple, rather than Linda Carter, aka Night Nurse. The simple reason is that we might see Night Nurse in a Marvel movie! “The feature side had plans for her down the road so that was the only time we ran into a conflict,” DeKnight said. “So we just used another name.”
With Marvel's slate of movies between now and 2019 already announced, it's not hard to figure out which upcoming Marvel hero she'd most likely be hanging out with, btw... it's Doctor Strange.

And since we know Rachel McAdams is in talks for the female lead, we can only cross our fingers and hope for the best!
